Emily Shealy is a professional, Certified, independent Saddle Fitter. She is trained and certified through Mike Scott, LMT, CSF, a MSA (Master Saddler Association) Certified Saddle Fitter who has trained extensively in England, and is the director of the School of Saddle Fitting and Flocking in Camden, SC.
Emily's certification emphasized over 220 classroom hours of hands on correct anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, saddle fitting, and flocking technique training, as well as several six month-long intensive case studies and internships.

Saddle Fitting & Repair
Fitting of each saddle, tracings, recommendations:
This includes a complete evaluation panel of history, saddles, rider and horse, static and dynamic fitting, checking integrity of the saddle, and completing tracings/templates (if purchasing saddles, this fee includes looking at a few.)
Realize that nothing can be done for a foam saddle that doesn't fit properly except a possible conversion or suggestions of pads –full fee still applies.
On Site Flocking: *please contact for cost estimate
This applies for flocking the saddle. After the saddle has been worked on, the fit will be evaluated again (with the rider up); flocking will be adjusted again if needed. In the event that a saddle is flocked to fit the horse without the rider present to participate in fitting and movement evaluation portion of the fitting, Upstate Equine, LLC assumes no responsibility in the event that the saddle is not fit properly. It is imperative that the horse and rider be observed in motion to ensure the best fit.
Billets: $40/billet.
Add $55.00 if saddle needs to be unstitched and reassembled.
Add webbing, point billets, reconfigure billet system, extra fee applies
Complete Reflock: $450.00
Conversion from Foam or CAIR to Wool: $450.00
Misc. Stitching and Repairs: price dependent on work and saddle condition.
Saddle Sourcing: $40/hour, includes utilizing recommendations for horse and rider after an initial fitting session, and sourcing saddles based on type, fit, and budget. This includes in person and virtual searches, emails, and/or contact calls to sellers, as well as reviewing saddles the client finds and wants to trial.
It is a $40/minimum for searching, contacting the client, and reviewing saddles away from the fitting session. Any time over the initial hour is an additional $40/hour.
Any additional shipping charges for mailing tracings, call charges, trial fees, or shipping fees are not included and are the responsibility of the buyer/client to cover.
You will be given a referral for any other work that we cannot do for any reason. Please contact for other pricing estimates. Always ask your saddler/fitter to quote an approximate cost for you.

Cancellation Policy & Travel Fees:
No matter how short the session, or in the event of a last minute cancellation or no show, the full session fee is assessed to cover the allotted appointment time for any saddle fitting, bodywork, lessons, etc.
If for any reason you are unable to make your scheduled appointment time, please give me at least 24 hr. notice of cancellation.
Travel fees are charged based on time and distance and might be waived/split for barns with multiple horses.
